Los Angeles artist Pam Douglas has been well reviewed in shows including a large installation in the California African American Museum and at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.

Art critic Shana Nys Dambrot reviewed her 2017 solo show in the Huff Post: “Pam Douglas is steeped in the magical way assemblage creates meaning. But she also excels at using paint, light, and line to modify and repurpose her finds into thematic compositional elements of powerful narratives.”

In a Huff Postreview of her 2016 solo, Dambrot wrote:“Pam Douglas has an alchemical gift for transmogrifying materials beyond their conventional aspects in the service of emotionally rich, conceptually profound mixed media works that bridge the divide between gestural abstraction and allegorical narrative.”

Douglas’ work has been critically acclaimed by Scarlet Cheng, contributor to Artilleryand the Los Angeles Times: “Pam Douglas adeptly combines drawing, painting and assemblage. …Her work so often expresses the universal polarities that define human existence. This cycle is joyful and sublime.”

Her work was featured at the Los Angeles Art Show at the Convention Center, January 2019 by the Los Angeles Art Association
